Yes, those brownies are vegan! Don’t they look so good?
Ever since I decided to go on a no-diet, I feel so much better about myself. I don’t have to obsess about my food choices anymore- whether I should eat this or that. Overall, I feel much more relaxed when it comes to eating and just listening to my body.
So, you must be wondering why the title “going vegan”? Although I feel good about myself, I still think that it may be good idea to give my body a break from animal products and my beloved prepackaged foods (pizza hehe). It’s going to be a little detox for me.
Experienced vegetarian and vegan?
In the past, I was a vegetarian for 3 years. Vegetarians avoid eating meat products, but they can still consume dairy and egg products. Vegans, on the other hand, also don’t consume meat products including dairy and egg products. Being a vegan is a little bit tougher than a vegetarian, especially if you like to eat out. Nonetheless, practicing a vegan diet is still manageable though.
There were a couple times when I did attempt the vegan diet. It wasn’t necessary for losing weight per se, but I honestly didn’t want to eat any meat, dairy and egg products in those times. The funny thing is that I felt “lighter” when eating only plantbased foods. Eating mainly vegetables and fruits do give you a better digestions. And yes, you may have to run to the toilet more than once in a day.
Usually my time as a vegan lasted for 1-2 months, until I slowly incorporated dairy, meat and egg products again. My downfall were desserts. I love cakes, chocolates, ice cream and everything that soothes my sweet tooth, but are definitely not ideal in veganism. I guess my willpower and creativity when it comes to food is not strong enough.
I do think that a vegan diet is the healthiest diet out there. At the moment I would like to challenge myself again to practice a purely vegan diet. I’ve been eating a lot of animal products and too many processed foods. I do need a break from this. So, here we go…back to eating vegan. I will keep you updated how my vegan challenge goes, and maybe give you another what I eat in a day as a “vegan”.
Have a great Sunday!
