2016 & 2017
2016 passed by so quickly. I still can’t believe it’s 2017 already. I have to admit 2016 was definitely a crazy and at the same time a beautiful year.
In 2016, I moved to Switzerland in order to be closer to my partner. It felt so good to be back in Europe, but of course I missed my family in Canada and everything that’s familiar to me. While I was trying to adapt to my new life in Switzerland, I also went travelling quite a lot. In particular, I had the pleasure to visit 10 countries! Lucky girl :).
2017 is definitely going to be much different than in comparison to last year. There won’t be much travelling this year. It will be much more low-key, which I honestly don’t mind. Next month we will be finally moving to our new house. So, for now we are pretty busy preparing for the big day. Once we are settled in the house, we will also have to start to decorate our place. I’m already brainstorming for some cute interior design ideas on Pininterest.
My goal for this year is to learn more about this country, culture and attitudes. As I mentioned in my previous post, it’s always tough adapting to a new country and making it to your new home. The best advice I can give to anyone is to take it one step at a time. Be open minded with what’s coming next, but don’t push yourself too hard. My next step to get a better sense of this country is to learn French. As of this week, I’ll be going to start my first lesson. Wish me luck :).
Have a gorgeous day!
